Prophylaxis and Periodontal Maintenance

The best way to treat periodontal disease is to prevent it! By visiting Dr. Ginsberg every six months for routine examinations and prophylaxis therapy, you can avoid complications to your oral health. During your visit, Dr. Ginsberg will examine your teeth and gums as well as remove harmful plaque build-up with hand instruments and polishing agents.

For patients who have undergone periodontal treatment or surgery, periodontal maintenance visits are recommended every three months. These visits are necessary to ensure your treatment is successful and to prevent any further disease. While periodontal disease is not curable, it can be managed and controlled with regular maintenance. During these visits, Dr. Ginsberg will continue to examine problematic areas such as pocket depth and graft site health to ensure your gums are healing properly and in the best shape possible!
